Richard Snyder's Artwork
About Me....
Richard Snyder likes to work on anything: small items to larger pieces of art like his two story home. He creates physical objects from what started out as only ideas. Three dimensional objects bring satisfaction, but the challenge of creating the illusion of depth on a flat surface brings him an even greater sense of expression. The possibilities are endless and limited only by the artist's vision.
Turning an idea or concept into an object of art that can be appreciated is the skill of expression through a physical medium. The artist must have insight, creative skill, and workmanship, which Richard instills in every peice created.
Richard realizes that people will judge his art with different degrees of appreciation. He hopes that the elements of good art will be evident in the painting whatever the subject matter.
Richard has always had a noticeable interest in art. As a second grader he began art lessons in oil painting and continued lessons throughout high school. After graduation he decided to attend art school at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design in Lancaster, Pa. He graduated in 1993 with a degree in the fine arts program. In these years, he has had many opportunities to show and sell his art work. For over a decade he had been employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Correction as an Art Instructor. In 2009, he published 5 different sets of Limited Lithograph Prints. He also looks forward to continuing spending time with his wife and growing family.
